It’s with heavy hearts Dave and I write this to our longtime 3 Doors Down family.
We will be selling the 3 Doors Down Café & Lounge to Michael Galloway and Jeff Saulsbury. We’re so sad to say goodbye, but know there are some exciting new opportunities for us in the future and we look forward to seeing you all again very soon.
Save for the eventual absence of Dave and I, not much will change at 3DD. The Café will have the same excitement of an ever-evolving menu alongside the classics. Dave’s signature vodka sauce, Caesar salad and banana cream pie aren’t going anywhere. Neither is the revered wine list you’ve all come to love. You’ll still have the once-a-year scallops and peaches to look forward to. The new owners are planning on a few exciting menu additions too, like the return of the venerable seafood fra diavolo. Even the Café’s name will stay the same.
We’ve taken great care to ensure our staff will remain, as this will always be a place where everyone knows your name. Our regulars are so much more than customers. You’ve been our family since 1994.
Please know, Dave and I chose new owners who will continue the 3DD legacy of impeccable service and attention to detail. We’re so proud of the institution we’ve built. Alongside Higgins and Paley’s, we had a hand in putting Portland’s food scene on the map. We could not have achieved any of this without the help, patience and loyalty of you, our longtime customers. Words cannot express our gratitude, nor how much we’ll miss working the line and the floor.
Just know you haven’t seen the last of Dave and I. Not by a longshot and we can’t wait for you all to see and taste what’s ahead.
Until the next time we meet,
Kathy Bergin and Dave Marth
